Conversive Privacy Policy

At Conversive, we are committed to protecting your privacy.  This Privacy Policy sets out Conversive’s policy with respect to our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information.

1. Safe Harbor

We have certified as compliant with the Safe Harbor Framework established and administered by the US Department of Commerce.  Information about Safe Harbor can be found at http://www.export.gov/safeharbor.

2. Contact Information

Conversive welcomes your comments regarding this Privacy Policy. If you believe that we have not adhered to this Policy or if you wish to review or edit your personal information, please contact us by e-mail at privacy@conversive.com, and we will use reasonable commercial efforts to address any concerns that you may have.

3. What Does Conversive Do?

Conversive provides web-chat software and services that are used by companies (Clients) to communicate with their customers.  These can be deployed on servers hosted by the Client, or on servers hosted by Conversive.

When servers are hosted by Conversive, Conversive may, on behalf of the Client, receive personal information from customers or employees of the Client (Customer Information) into the Conversive web-chat system. We also collect information through our own websites. Our methods for collection and use of information depend on whether a Customer accesses a Conversive website directly or accesses our service through one of our Client’s sites.

4. What Information Do We Collect?

· Usage Information

Conversive web servers automatically record the IP addresses and referring URL (when provided) of visitors to our websites and users of the web-chat service.

· Contact Information

Customers requesting support or downloads of certain information on our websites may be asked to provide contact information, including name, address, company name, email address and phone number.

· Cookies

Conversive web servers also may use "cookies" from time to time to help personalize the online experience. A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer to help us make the Conversive web-chat service more "user friendly".  Any personal information collected about a Customer through cookies will be treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

· Information Received on Behalf of Clients

Clients may use the Conversive web-chat service to obtain personal information from their Customers.  The type of personal information collected (if any) will depend on the nature of the Client and the purposes for which they are using the web-chat service.  Customer information collected on servers hosted by Conversive is stored in the form of transcripts of the chat conversations (logs).

5. How Do We Use and Disclose Information?

· Usage Information

Information about the usage of the web-chat service will be used only to monitor and improve the service.

· Contact Information

Contact information collected by Conversive will be used to provide the requested information and support.  Contact information may be used to send out promotional material about our services from time to time.

· Cookies

Cookies are used to personalize the Customer web-chat experience.

· Information Received on Behalf of Clients

When the Conversive web-chat service is hosted on Conversive servers on behalf of a Client, it is always Conversive’s policy, as the Client’s agent, to comply with the terms and conditions of each Client’s Privacy Policy with regard to Customer Information.  While Customer Information may be contained in logs or records of the conversations between a Client and its Customers, Conversive does not segregate Customer Information, or use it for any commercial purpose of its own. Logs and transcripts of chat conversations may be reviewed by Conversive or the Client for the purposes of evaluating and improving the service.

Except as required by law, or as noted above, Conversive does not share Customer Information with any third party.

6. How Do We Protect Information?

Conversive is committed to industry best practices approaches concerning security measures to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of the information in our possession. We use various security measures to protect the information we collect, as appropriate to the type of information, including encryption, firewalls, and access controls. We store information on a computer system located in a controlled facility with a limited access.  When appropriate, Customer textual information is encrypted during transmission. Our company databases are directly accessible only by Conversive employees, contractors and agents on a need-to-know basis and who have entered into and are bound by a confidentiality and nondisclosure agreement with Conversive.

7. How Do You Opt-Out?

Conversive gives Customers options wherever necessary and practical. Such choices include opting not to engage in chat sessions and opting not to provide identifiable information during chat sessions.

If you have provided contact information to Conversive, and would like to be removed from our mailing list, email your request to info@conversive.com.

8. Inquiries or Complaints

If you have a question or complaint about this Privacy Policy or our information collection practices, please contact us at privacy@conversive.com.  We will investigate the matter and are committed to resolve any privacy concerns that you may have. If your inquiry has not been satisfactorily addressed and you are a visitor located in the EU, you may contact European Data Protection Authorities, elected as a Dispute Resolution in our Safe Harbor self-certification.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Conversive reserves the right to change, modify, add or remove portions of this policy at any time.
